Building a community-driven shopping experience for Melissa
Melissa has always shown a strong presence and expressiveness in the digital world. Millions of people are connected to Melissa’s channels, constantly reinforcing a passion for their products and initiatives.
Between 2013 and 2015, however, there was a gradual drop in the number of visits and overall engagement on the Melissa website. Facing this scenario, our team was asked to restore relevance to the brand's main communication channel by creating a totally new website/e-commerce. The challenge was to improve the general perception of Melissa as a brand and make its platform more attractive.
Connecting with the community to drive commerce, we put the user at the center of our decisions. Guided by cultural insights and people's behavior, we changed the way Melissa communicated. With simplicity at the core of the user experience, we brought the site to life with rich content and contextualized products that inspired customers to browse as well as purchase.
